Alas still no roadacne but I can feel some coming.....

Signed up for Twitter earlier & have also popped ShoZu on my phone so in theory I can moan & upload photos of said moan straight from my phone.

Manged to blag 250meg a month of free data from Orange too - web 2.0 me up!

Just need to see if they include uploads as well as downloads in this limit else posting flicks could get rather expensive.

Still no Roadacne

Yes, sorry for the lack of images about what this blog is supposedly beefing about but Im sure we'll get there.

Slightly poor show me thinks that Ive not updated this blog for over a month but hey, all sorts have been going on and I also forgot my login, funny how things pop into your head when you least expect them. Still, checking out the few blogs I follow (need to figure out how I do actually follow rather than just having a folder full of links but again Im off on a tangent) prompted me into a little bit of key tapping.

So, I guess I need to mention the weather seeing a Bristol has seen a mighty fine dump of snow in the last week. Personally I love it, the meeja however (here I refer exclusively to the Evening Post) seems to be having a field week of chaos & seemedly advising people to panic! Regardless of which here is the first pic for the blog & my take on the EP's reporting.

Not working quite as planned & just what the hell is roadacne!

So, the broadband at work is fuc*ed (what a great idea that thin client remote server setup was!) which led to exiting the orifice early today, decided therefore to head out on the bike for a few relaxing miles & begin the hunt for some roadacne.

Now I figure I should also qualify just what roadacne is, as it seems Ive invented a new phrase that google hasn't indexed yet! So, given time & enough keyword manipulation for the bots this little corner of the internet will become its home. Roadacne is quite simply any infraction into the usual grippy, semi smooth surface we cyclists should expect to pedal on. Or explained in another way, Roadacne is something you have to ride around rather than over for fear of loosening your fillings/damaging your plums (plumettes)/taking a dive & getting road on your face etc...

Now I know this stuff exists as I remember clearly the large amount times I have nearly been ejected from the saddle but every bump I felt seemed not quite as bad today, although the leaf mush on tarmac & the mixture of gravel & mud experienced on route 41 earlier seemed to qualify for a while but then I found the floating sensation this gives with non knobbly tyres quite fun! concentration on something that actually matters is very theraputic. Well it works for me anyway.

This view does seem to be flying in the face of my blog title but bllx to it - its Christmas!

Number One

So yer tiz, the first post on my new blog. Not typing this for anyone in particular but after a little googling (after I incepted Bristolroadacne.com* a few hours ago)  I seem to have found both a website dedicated to reporting potholes to the council http://preview.tinyurl.com/6v8qyo & also a interesting site for the general reporting of public beef to the various powers that be http://www.fixmystreet.com/?pc=bristol.

That last one is a whole post on its own for the future I think but it will certainly give me ideas for posts from my fellow publics.

Oh & on another note, I see a fellow Bristol Blog posting about the quality of Range Rover parking / lack of it  http://bristolcars.blogspot.com/ - I personally have an issue with their king of the road attitude too & this is very much due to a run in with FH **** on the A4174 ring road recently, the driver of which proving whole cholesterol choked heartily that he's a very, very large merchant banker & we all know how popular they are at the moment!.

I feel better already.

*I know that's not the full name of this blog but until I do actually get around to registering it its what I'm calling it. Will come in handy for prior art too if any url squatters nab it before I really do need it, so there.
